The smaller your focus; greater is the probability of your success. Its indeed ironical that one must narrow one’s focus to amplify ones success. But true it is. Like they say: You cannot be everything to every one. 

Like I say: Be the jack of all trades, master of some and emperor of ONE.

Focus on the WHAT: Brand your product/service which you can offer better than the best

Focus on your core area of expertise and make it your Brand-stinction! Then hone your said skill set every single day so you may trump all others and personify your brand YOUniqueness like no other. Put your Brand focus on what makes you exceptional: your talents, your passions, your aspirations and how these distinguish you from the mortals.

Focus on the WHO: Map your ideal target group that you can serve the best; people who will benefit the most from your ‘Xclusive Xpertise’

Focus on the smallest community of target audience and be the invincible expert on call; this doesn’t mean that you should never work for people who fall out of your target audience, but this distinction presents you with a well defined focus group, to focus your brand promotion and marketing efforts on. Remember, the most important criteria should be that you enjoy working with the said target group: they must be equally energized and excited about Brand YOU and your exclusive promise of value! Why waste precious time and energy in reaching out to people who are not your ideal customers? Why indeed?

Focus on the WHERE: Be constantly visible across selective touch points.

One of the 3 C’s of Personal Branding-Constancy (other two being Clarity and Consistency )-in your Brand Visibility across the best suitable media to reach, engage and empower your target audience day after day. Research and select the media platforms, both online and offline where your target audience best loves to spends their time on and best trusts to gain knowledge and information from. Why bother focusing on a multitude of platforms where your customer frequents not?

FOCUS your brand time and be rest assured; soon shall you be the beloved cynosure of your target audience. Period.

Lead with LOVE: The best kept secret of Personal Branding

Love. What has Love got to do with Personal Branding?

Of course I love my brand, I love myself- if I got you thinking! Well, who doesn’t?

But when love does make the world go round; vanity-doesn’t. Period. If you love the Brand YOU on borderline narcissism, you don’t love your brand, you just love yourself-and that’s one huge difference. When one truly embarks upon a journey with love-selfless love, when one learns to lead with love; rest all becomes immaterial.

We all lead our lives, our families, our communities, our employees, our dreams at some point of our life-the leadership seasons thereof might vary in time and duration; but lead do we. When one learns to lead their life with love, one hopelessly falls in love with all these aforementioned elements of our life; and constantly works towards loving better, living better and most importantly giving better.

Now, as a human-it is easier to love-as it is mostly selfish love, but as a leader, it gets equally challenging-because it now needs to be unadulterated selfless love. The word of the day is indulge: indulge into knowing yourself better, loving others better, empowering others better, being better and growing up better!  So let’s indulge ourselves to our hearts content, and then indulge some more; after all, as wine gets better with its timely indulgence, so does your brand; the more you indulge it, the better it gets.   2. Feed your aptitude: Today, aptitude is the secret ingredient of your brand’s recipe. How YOUnique your aptitude is, determines how exotic and exclusive your brand will be! So feed it up with a dash of YOUniqueness , and make it irresistible.
  3. Feed your motivation: Today, motivation is what fuels your passion to make your dreams/visions come true! Seek out one new inspiration a day that motivates you to do more, be more. So feed it up with a pinch of inspiration daily.
  4. Feed your attitude: Today, attitude is the seasoning agent in your flavor of success. If your attitude is seasoned with altruism and affection, your brand will spread the aroma of love too. So feed it up with the lush of love that makes their hearts melt.
  5. Feed your soul: Today, the one thing your soul truly craves for is a kiss of divine indulgence, which furthers it towards its beloved enlightenment. So feed it up with a zest of divine illumination, that enlightens a million more souls.

Their clock stops ticking beyond… But also amidst us are a few, who rise above this mortal side of humanity; they envy as envy does-but they also have the courage to command their envy and foster all their might into coveting their objects of desire with passionate perseverance until the achievement. This is how their envy evolves into empowerment.

Those who speak ill of pride (superbia) have never put it to a noble use. Pride in itself, is not a sin; being consumed by it, is. The mere mortals may get consumed by fickle pride; the reigning immortals of the corporate kingdom, command it to build a legacy. My Superbia way of building the Brand YOU:

  1. Pride in your value: If you do not believe in yourself, nobody will. Likewise, if you do not believe in the exclusive value that you offer, who else will? Empower your brand with an exclusive and rare promise of value that makes the world proud of you, your brand.  Pride in the promise of your brand value.
  2. Pride in your network: Gone is the era of thriving in solo; today, you must belong- belong to a tribe that you may intellectually nourish and be nurtured in return. The stronger your tribe, the strong be your brand. Pride in the enrichment of your network.
  3. Pride in your vision: Your Vision must speak for itself, raise applause, touch hearts and transform lives, one life at a time. Your vision is not for yourself, but the society, the world, the universe. Envision such a noble change that the entire universe prides in your vision, and conspires to help you realize it. Pride in the benevolence of your vision.
  4. Pride in your commitment: Time is a humble servant of your Brand, but once you commit your service to it, time will laud the karma of your brand. Dedicate at least 10 minutes to your brand karma daily; and watch your brand turnaround the karmic wheel, and how! Pride in the commitment of your brand karma.
  5. Pride in your brand: Your brand is your thought leadership; your thought leadership that will define your reputation.  A reputation that will be immortalized in your legacy. A legacy that will be cherished for an eternity. Pride in the legacy of your brand.
